Taking the plunge
I stared at the diving board. Small streams of water trickled down my legs. It wasn't just any diving board — it was the high dive.
"Two-year-olds can't jump off the high dive," Mom said yet again.
That wasn't going to stop me. I was a determined two year old. I asked again. And again. And finally—
“I’ll take him.”
I looked up through my pink fogged-up goggles to a familiar voice coming from the heavens above. It was my swim teacher.
"Oh, that's okay," Mom said. But my teacher insisted.
She picked me up and carried me to the top. Then to the edge. We jumped. Splashed. And I came out—beaming.
Since then, I’ve taken a lot of jumps in life. Some with the help of others. Some by myself. Each one preparing me for the next. And over time, I’ve helped others take some leaps, too.
About me
Currently, I lead a team of designers, art directors, photographers and copywriters at Kizik, an innovative hands-free shoe company. I love helping my team bring their best ideas to life. I enjoy finding simple human truths, but I also care about the details and the craft.
Outside of work, you'll find me writing music, reading, working out, and spending time with my wife and two boys.
Let's take the next leap together
